C Suite Charters November 2024

Weather

Welcome to Florida the Sunshine State where there is a definitive hurricane season.

We’ve seen a couple of them this year Helene and Milton.  Our hearts go out to the folks up north, down south, and on the Gulf who were devastated.  We’ve been fortunate here in Port Canaveral. It’s the 2nd Largest cruise ship terminal in the World. Home to SpaceX and many other pioneers following their rockets into space.  Damage has been minimal here even though the eye of Milton went right over the top of us.  With that said, all we’ve lost were days of fishing. So we count our blessings and look forward to the end of hurricane season. It’s Looking good right about now!

When the wind blows, she stirs up the sea. We avoid subjecting our happy vacationing guests and faithful locals to an angry ocean.  There is a big difference between Sportfishing and Commercial fishing.  I spent several years Crab fishing out of Kodiak and Dutch Harbor in Alaska. I often wonder, what was I thinking?  Chasing dreams, aren’t we all?  Let’s dream of some sunny days and calm seas together and make it a reality.

Today

It’s all about helping our guests have an amazing unforgettable experience. For some it’s the tight lines on a trophy sailfish, wahoo, or king fish. Others enjoy seeing Dolphins, Manatees, Manta rays, and giant Loggerhead turtles. But, everyone Loves sipping a cold drink, sharing a great meal and the time you could never buy back.  Yes, it’s a dream, I’m living a dream.  Several of my clients have offered to come work the deck for free, Lol.  It’s amazing what happens when you get out there and forget about the rest of the world.  Being on the ocean requires you to be fully present.  Present and mindful are buzz words these days. Likely because people are becoming aware of the fast-paced world we are living in. With so much hustle and bustle going on folks need to be reminded to breathe.

Sportfishing is exhilarating.  There is nothing like the sound of an 80W reel spinning off line. When the clicker is clicking, there is usually a beast is at the end of it. And everyone on deck shouts fish on!  I can’t change the world. So, I created a culture and environment. Our guests feel safe, become relaxed, are well cared for and often return to their lives rejuvenated.

Great News

We were fortunate to catch Captain Mitch Skubak (AKA) Scooby. We didn’t put him on ice, Lol he’s still hot out of the gate and ready to peel line.  Captain Mitch is a 30-year veteran of Port Canaveral and a proven tournament winning captain.  When he’s not running charters on Chellie you will find him running the pilot boat or hunting gators.  I’m learning plenty from him, he’s a great teacher, kind, compassionate, and genuinely cares about people. He’s a wonderful reflection of our culture.

Bon Voyage

Our veteran chief steward Caleb Vogal will be leaving us on Dec 15th, 2024. He’s going to travel around the world in a sailboat race the ARC for 15 months.  He’s excited and we are excited for him.  But before he’s gone, we will post a link where you can follow his travels.  We had him just about trained too, Lol.  There can only be one Caleb, he will be missed. Have no fear, Captain Mitch and I will cover his spot on deck until we find the right mate.

Multiday

To date we have been catering to the demand of folks who want to fish for the day.  And if you are anything like me one day is never enough.  Can you imagine taking multiple days and exploring Florida or the Bahamas?  We can do that; we will take you wherever you want to go.  Want to explore more than a 12-hour trip?  I’ve got some ideas that will significantly cut the costs, call me for details.

Salute

A big shout out to the 100’s of people who sailed with us so far this year! Several of our our repeat clients came out multiple times, Thank You Kindly! We look forward to seeing you again soon. For those of you who are still dreaming, it’s not too late, Wahoo season in Now! Until then keep your lines tight and as my crew says, make it happen Captain.

Aloha, Capt Rick
